Gianna is a vibrant 9-year-old with a heart full of dreams and spirit that lights up every room. Gianna and her family are local to Jacksonville Beach, FL. They are a wonderful and kind family that we are thankful to know. Gianna was diagnosed at the end of last year with osteosarcoma and has been fighting and incredibly brave ever since. With her specific type of cancer, she needed to undergo a rotationplasty. That is a complex surgical procedure that removed part of her leg and reconstructed it using her own lower limb. Then, rotated and reattached to eventually allow for a prosthetic. Since her surgery, she has continued her chemo treatments. Her healing has been slower than expected largely because of the toll chemo takes on her tiny body. Through it all - the pain, nausea, the fear, the loss of a limb - Gianna has been fighting hard, showing courage and bravery. So, this year, the 904 Redfish Tournament is raising money for Gianna and her family to help with medical bills, expenses for treatments, groceries, everyday expenses and more.
