The 904 Redfish Tournament Rules & Regulations

 

 

  1. By registering for the 904 Redfish Tournament and/or submitting payment, the captain and crew members agrees to and has read all tournament rules and regulations.
  2. All captains and crew members are accountable for reading and abiding by all 904 Redfish Tournament rules and regulations. 
  3. All anglers must have a valid Florida fishing license.
  4. All anglers must follow all Florida Wildlife Conservation (FWC) rules and regulations.
  5. Fish MUST be of legal size to be eligible for the 904 Redfish Tournament. Per FWC rules and regulations. (18"-27")
  6. Fish MUST be caught the day of the tournament. 
  7. Fish may be inspected at the tournament director’s discretion. 
  8. The fish will be measured to verify legal length per FWC rules and regulations. (Will be using the “perfect pincher”)
  9. The winner will be determined by the weight of the redfish. Heaviest fish wins.
  10. In the event of a tie, the captain that checks in at the weigh station first will win.
  11. This will be a live fish weigh in and there will be a 1-pound penalty for weighing in a dead fish. 
  12. The fish must be caught with a hook and line with rod & reel
  13. May use live and/or artificial bait.
  14. May fish in all of the 904 including St. Augustine and Jacksonville, FL.
  15. On tournament day, fishing begins at 7:15am. 
  16. 1-4 anglers (adults) per boat, including captain & lady angler. Up to two junior anglers per boat. 
  17. One fish submitted per boat, one fish per lady angler & one per junior angler. One fish per division. 
  18. No weighing the same fish for more than one division. 
  19. This will be a LIVE weight in. There will be a 1-pound (16 oz) penalty for a dead fish. (need to see the gills moving)
  20. If you do not want to keep your redfish, you may leave it with the tournament director & the redfish will be released. 
  21. All anglers must bring their own fish to the weigh station. (including lady & junior anglers)
  22. Lady anglers must be registered in the lady angler division to be eligible to weigh in a fish.
  23. Junior anglers must be registered in the junior angler division to be eligible to weigh in a fish.
  24. Junior anglers must be 14 years old or younger and accompanied by an adult.
  25. You must check in at the weigh station before it closes in order to weigh in fish. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  26. The weigh station times will from 1pm-4pm.
  27. No weigh ins allowed before the weigh station is open.
  28. Must bring your boat number to weigh ins.
  29. May fish on a boat or kayak.
  30. Any fish caught from land, dock, bridge or pier do NOT qualify for the 904 Redfish Tournament. 
  31. May register online or at captains meeting
  32. The registration deadline is the day of the captain’s meeting. May register up until the tournament director goes over the rules.
  33. Each boat must be represented at the captain’s meeting, by the captain and/or crew member(s). It is mandatory in order to be eligible to enter the tournament.
  34. Any boat that is cited by FWC on tournament day will be disqualified.
  35. Entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. 
  36. Current awards are based off of a minimum of 30 boat entries and are subject to change.
  37. The 904 Redfish Tournament reserves the right to disqualify participation of any captain and/or crew member for violations of the tournament rules and regulations and/or violations of FWC rules and regulations. 
  38. All participants (including who accompanies them: crew members and observers) of the 904 Redfish Tournament are participating at their own risk. 
  39. The 904 Redfish Tournament and the people directly or indirectly involved with the operations of the 904 Redfish Tournament are not liable for any damage or injury of any kind.
  40. By participating and/or registering (submitting payment) for the 904 Redfish Tournament, the captain and crew members agrees to the use of any tournament photos that he or she may appear in without any restrictions.
  41. The 904 Redfish Tournament has the right to reschedule for unforeseen circumstances, such as weather. 
  42. By registering and submitting payment, captain and crew members agrees to and has read all tournament rules and regulations. 
  43. All anglers must abide by the 904 Redfish Tournament rules and regulations as well as FWC rules and regulations & the state and federal rules and regulations. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. 
  44. The 904 Redfish Tournament reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations up until the captains meeting. All final decisions will be at the tournament director’s discretion. 
  45. The 904 Redfish Tournament reserves the right to disqualify anyone for violations of any of the rules or regulations. 


The 904 Redfish Tournament is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. The tournament expects the highest level of sportsmanship.
